Hold your horses, Temp Resident hopefuls
Two weeks the Mexitel Citas website has been impenetrable. It is the only way you can make a date
with a Mx consulate to apply for the Temp Resident Visa. All of a sudden today the Citas website says they are overwhelmed with work (and no set date for accepting applications). Worse, you are advised that applications now will take many weeks to set a date. I don't necessarily believe it. Not all Mx consulates in the u.s. are overwhelmed. I've heard of two or three that have no scheduling problems at all. there's more advice at the Cita website https://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/denver/inde...cans/visas |

RE: Hold your horses, Temp Resident hopefuls
A bit of an explanation rests in the heavy burden currently on INM staff as they deal with the large number of Central American migrants that pour daily across the Guatemalan frontier. The Consulate application and approval process for residency that you mention is only step one with follow-on tasks being the responsibility of INM back office workers. Delays are to be expected.
