RE: Temp residency
Clay, The amount required went up not long ago. You can only apply at MX Consuls in the U.S., such as the one in Austin. --doyle
"At today´s exchange rate, the income requirement for temporary residency is about $1,620 per month. Add an additional $540 for a spouse." https://internationalliving.com/countries/mexico/visa/ From the MX Inmigración website: Applicable to foreigners who intend to enter Mexico as a temporary resident in order to remain for a period of more than 180 days and less than 4 years. Author Secretary of Foreign Relations Publication date July 23, 2015 Requirements: Valid passport or identity document and travel. A photography. Be a national of the country or prove legal stay in the country in which the visa application is submitted. Cover the payment of corresponding fees in the form and amount indicated by the Federal Rights Law. Submit documents proving any of the following cases: a) Economic solvency. b) Conduct of scientific research in jurisdictional waters. c) Responsive letter. d) Family bond (parents, minor children, spouses, concubines, minor stepchildren) with Mexican or foreign person who has the status of Temporary Resident or Temporary Resident visa holder. e) Account with real estate in national territory. f) It has investments in national territory. g) Under the protection of an international legal instrument of mobility of persons. VERY IMPORTANT: This type of visa can be applied directly to any consular representation in Mexico and allows the foreigner to work in our country, as long as the salary he receives is paid abroad. If you have an offer of employment in Mexico and receive your salary in national territory, the company or individual must directly manage the authorization for the issuance of a visa from abroad to the National Migration Institute. NOTE: In any case, the foreign person must process the residence card that accredits their legal stay and allows them to remain in national territory within the next 30 calendar days from their entry into the national territory. |
