looking for advice for permanent residency

I was told that for 2017, one can get permanent residency without getting temporary residency first. Is this also true for 2018? If so what are the requirements? I have to start the process in the US, is that still correct? I was thinking of starting the process in san diego,ca in the mexican embassy there, but i heard that it easier in some mexican embassies/consulates than others...does anyone have suggestions for where its easier to acquire? What is the best website for this info? Is it best to get a lawyer here in gto to make it less stressfull? ill be in san diego Ca next week , do i need to make an appointment at the mexican embassy there asap? id really appreciate any advice, thanks very much

n.b. The only location for a Mexican Embassy in the US is in Washington DC - all other locations are Consulates

Check out Sonia Diaz website, she has a ton of info on the subject and she is always happy to answer questions for free.
She can advise and If you want her assistance with the process she does charge a fee.
Either way her site is very helpful.

From several Facebook group postings we read that the Phoenix and Las Vegas consulates are reportedly very immigrant friendly both in ease of process and flexibility on income requirements.
