Easy visa renewal in SMA
Yesterday, I got my FM3 renewal. It took a few minutes and was miraculously easy. For those interested:
1. Took only visa and passport to office across street from immigration on Canal Street. Paid them $400 pesos for forms, letters, papers, and the color, infintile photos. (I patronize them because I'm glad they are there to help). Time spent: 20 minutes
2. Took form to local bank. Paid $1294 pesos. Got receipt.
3. Took package to immigration, and got number for service.
4. Handed package to officer, paperwork now completed. Time: 20 minutes.
5. Return in 3 days to pick up new card.

That is it! No questions, no additional documents, etc. I wish I'd know it was this easy, and wouldn't have wasted time with worry.
