The first Tianguis Ecol?gico was a great success. So, stop by again and learn more about sustainable living and what you can do here in Guanajuato. There will be workshops, talks, and information on recycling, composting, solar water heaters, and more. Natural and homemade products such as soap, cheese, granola and yogurt will be on sale.

Why can't we recycle Plastic? It breakes my heart to throw everything away.

Your right. It is a shame. Here are a few things among many that can be done in this regard:

• Plastic soda ("PET") bottles can be used to build houses

• You can use them to build a solar water heater:

• You can reduce your consumption of plastics:
  Use tote bags for carrying groceries instead of plastic bags
  Make your own yogurt to eliminate those plastic containers
  Buy milk from the farm or people who bring it from the farm
  Make your own juice instead of buying it or drinking soda
  Avoid buying cheap plastic products that don't last (chairs, toys, containers, etc.)
  Stop buying water in plastic bottles
  
  
• Maybe someday we could have this:
  In Paris, public fountain serves up sparkling water
  
  
• If you do have plastic bags, they can be used to make things. Colleen from the Donkey Jote bookstore is an expert at this and will be at the tianguis demonstrating her technique.
