Save Saturday evening, February 16, for a terrific party

Amigos de los Animales will celebrate our 12th anniversary on Saturday, February 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. at El Midi Bistro and its neighboring space of Casa Cuatro, at Calle San Jose No. 4. This is a beautiful, recently renovated building in the centro just behind the Barratillo and close to the main post office. It has a roof garden with a splendid view.

As always, we will have a raffle of many attractive prizes, thanks to some of the city's best restaurants and other patrons, and a silent auction of unusual items and services, courtesy of generous donors. Our live entertainment will feature the Mumjazz Quartet. And once again the Amigos Follies will make fools of ourselves for your amusement.

Admission tickets are 250 pesos each if purchased before February 16, 300 pesos if purchased without a reservation at the door that evening. Each ticket entitles the bearer to several botanas prepared by El Midi Bistro's excellent chef and a glass of wine, a beer, or a nonalcoholic drink. With each admission ticket also comes a free raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased for 50 pesos, and of course additional drinks and food can be ordered.

You can purchase tickets at various places in the city (see the attached posters) and from board members of Amigos, whose phone numbers are listed there too.

To date we have sterilized more than 7,000 dogs and cats, and our volunteers have rescued more than 2,900 animals. In 2012 alone we sterilized 708 animals. With your support we'll continue our sterilization, rescue, and public education activities, which are making Guanajuato a more humane city.
