Mexico: Increase in vegetables exports
![]() Broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, garlic and onion, meet the quality standards to leave the country and rank as one of the best international products. This has given many families a safe income, due to an increase of the companies responsible for processing these products. Proof of this is that during the past two years, direct foreign capital investment in the state of Guanajuato raised expectations, giving as a result in an upturn in the labor contract, which sometimes is subsidized by the Federal Government (USDA) or Government of Guanajuato State, through the Secretariat of Agricultural Development. In this state 50% of companies processing vegetables and grain, with foreign investment, are located in the municipality of Leon, with a total of 281, followed by Irapuato Celaya with 71 and 52 (9.1%), while San Miguel de Allende is 31, in Silao 26, in San Francisco del Rincon 25, Guanajuato 19 and the remaining 67 distributed in surrounding municipalities.
