valid Visa payment rejected by Primera Plus

Trying to book a bus ticket online, I'm told I need more verification. I call US bank, get verification, they say it should go through, but it doesn't. Am told again, "pago rechazado por banco." My US bank says I'm good with them. Has anyone solved this problem?

Never worked for me on-line with a US card. Try a Mexican card if you have one or just go to the bus station and pay making sure you ask for a Senior ticket..Even if the seat allotment for seniors exhausted the agent can over-ride it.

I do know that cards especially Bank ones are difficult at time because of liability issues. I always call my bank (Chase) before departure and since I have had no problems. You, I believe live here so sounds like the bank is just messing up. I would call again the international number demanding to speak to a supervisor as the "clerk" you talked to ain't doing he/his job. Lots of incompetent people out there.
PS I have used my Chase a number of times for bus tickets.

I also have Chase, also tell them when I'm leaving the US. I think it's Primera Plus that is rejecting the card.

Cash is king here. Anything else is a PITA. And if you use a foreign credit card, you're almost always hit with a 1% conversion fee (legitimate) and a 3% or higher "service charge" (not legitimate).

I had a similar problem last year trying to buy items on Mercado Libre. Despite having let my card company know I would be I Mexico and using my card, the charges would not go through. I think my issue was a function of Mercado Libre's system not recognizing my US billing address.

You can also buy Primera Plus bus tickets at the kiosk in the Agora de Baratillo, and at OXXO stores.

Primera Plus accepts only Mexican credit cards online. You can pay with Paypal if you buy tickets on the ETN website.
