"Consultanbt" who helps with immigration
I have a long-lapsed "FM3" temporary residency visa that I am thinking of renewing. I may not fall in any of the regular categories because I haven't used it in seven years. Does anyone know of a person who helps someone like me with all the tramites, someone like the former Martha Roberts? I'm at louisarogers51@gmail.com. Thanks.

Luisa, I believe you can reach the still current and always vivacious Martha Roberts by PM via this message forum. Just use the Search function to reference one of her posts and then do a PM or e-mail.

A lot needs to be addressed re your immigration status - 1st off the bat would be if you are or are not in the country after what you mention is a seven year lapse of your "FM-3".

Hi, Louisa

The only company I know is in Leon, across the street from the immigration office. They are a little expensive but they are good.

Good luck!

Thanks Martha and Mr Bill,

I am in Mexico. I'm familiar with the office in Leon, gracias, Martha. Just want to be sure I don't forget any of the necessary docs so I don't have to return to GTO!

Most likely you would have to start over and apply at a Consulate in your home country

Hello Ms. Martha! Trust you and yours are well.
There is an immigration "consultant" firm inside the building with the INM offices ( They have relocated Martha since you left GTO) on one of the corners just as you enter, before you head left to INM. No idea of their costs or capabilities? Clearly signed with "visas" above the door.

Jesm,

Thanks. I saw that they had moved, but am not sure where in Leon they are. Are they near the bus station?

Jesm - The Immigration Consultant near Leon immigration is CZR y KO and they are good. They also have a much wider international experience than the Ameri/Can-centric consultants in SMA.

Louisa - sparksmex's comment made me think that you need to offer more info on your immigration status - a: are you residing here on a seven year or so lapsed FM3 [a document that no longer exists] then returning to you home country presents a problem at least by air. You'll need to have your immigration document validated by the airport immigration officer before you receive your boarding pass. Showing an 'antique' FM3 would expose you as an illegal alien subject at the minimum to a fine and perhaps a missed flight [and the consequences of such]. Or b: you are here anew on a Tourist Permit or whatever they are called these days - if so your first stop for info should be INM's website [using its English pages if need be] where you’ll find full details on what is necessary. You'll save a trip to Leon or SMA but as you read though the requisitos you’ll realize as sparksmex suggests that you'll need to begin the process desde fuera de México.

Haven't had to visit the Leon office in a year or so, but yes they had moved like 2 years ago into an abandoned commercial center on left side of 15 as you enter Leon from GTO. They are before the Centro Max shopping center ( Home Depot, Mega, Costco) on the same side of the street, so you make a Uturn at Centro Max go back past Sirloin Stockade maybe go 1/4 mile parking lot entrance right turn. Name of old plaza was Venecia or similar.

RE: "Consultanbt" who helps with immigration
Mr Bill, I've been coming into Mexico on a Tourist Visa for years, since I let the former FM3 lapse. Unfortunately, on the INM website, I see no info on "lapsed" visas.

I'll be going to Leon on a bus. I think I can have the driver just rop me off near Costco, rather than go all the way into the bus station. Can anyone confirm?
