lawyer  NEW WARDEN IN TOWN...

There comes a time, sooner or later, when we must pass the batton to someone else...

I am leaving Guanajuato on January 9, 2014 to return home after eight long years in Guanajuato. With mixed emotions, I would like to say farewell to all of you -- new and old, friends and acquaintances, whom I have had the pleasure of knowing, being friend with, and serving in my capacity of volunteer Warden for the US Embassy in Mexico City. It has been and honor and a great pleasure to serve you.

Doyle Phillips, has accepted and been accepted by the US Embassy to continue in the position of Warden, effective tomorrow, January 1, 2014. Please welcome Doyle and refer your questions to him in the future. Thank you for your kind support and encouragement during my tenure, as well as my stay in Guanajuato since our arrival in 2006.

I will continue checking in to say hello when I get settled back home. In the meantime, may 2014 bring all of you happiness, joy, love, and abundance in the years to come.

Martha E. Roberts :)

Here is the last message from the US Embassy from me. So long!!!

Hello Ms. Roberts,

Thank you for your email, and for all of your time and service as a Warden for the U.S. Embassy in Mexico. The Embassy, and the U.S. citizens in your district greatly appreciate your service, and we wish you all the best in your new endeavors.

We have heard from Mr. Philips, and are happy to have him take over for you in your duties as Warden in Guanajuato.

All the very best, and Happy New Year.

Martha,

With all that you have given to this community, you leave VERY big shoes behind for Doyle Phillips to fill. May 2014 be a year of healing and joy for you.

Good luck Doyle!

And chime in I will... I have been called already by Americans who plan to move to Mexico, to assist them with their documentation and appointments at their corresponding Mexican Consulates at home. I don?t think I am destined to really retire but, frankly, I would not have it any other way.

It?s been a pleasure to know you too Don. Best wishes for 2014.

Martha
