FMM tourist card experience please

1. On exit Mexico I would like to surrender my FMM at the office in Nuevo Laredo and then

2. immediately ask for another FMM with the understanding that i would be going into Laredo, TX for one day and then return to Mexico.

I have heard of a new FMM being issued at the same time that the old one is turned in. That part sounds feasible.

But would INM issue that new FMM with the understanding that it would be one day before i re-entered Mexico. --Doyle Phillips

Doyle - if you have 'time left' on your tourist card I thnk the answer is NO simply because you have 'time left' . Of course if your toursit card is expiring exactly at the moment you are turning it in it makes sense to request another but then think about it - if the maximum time allowed is 180 days and the requirement is that you LEAVE THE COUNTRY then that is what it means - so don't even bother asking. 3rd possibily is that your FMM is already expired - In that case Just leave.

What it all bolis down to is making things simple for immigration which means making things simple for your self - turn your card in - walk across the bridge [at least half way] and then come back and get a new card.
