English language library
Does anyone read real "books" anymore???
I used to pick-up and leave off books at the library when it was on Cinco de mayo, but when it was moved to their new location, all the books were stuffed into a small space, not arranged in any order...total chaos. I have a couple of boxes of books that need to be disposed of. Do I take them there and hope that they will be of value to someone, or do I relegate them to the basura??? OR...have they changed the location again??? Anybody know??? |

RE: English language library
Tierra De Verano has a lending library in the rural area of Cajones, GTO. Write us at jzm@email.arizona.edu and see if your books are recycled gems to us instead of landfills.
Thanks! |

RE: English language library
Ask at Cafe Tal -- there are a few books there you can borrow and replace. I also heard that Colleen will be selling books in Cafe Tal a few days a week, and would love to know more about that if anybody has more information.

RE: English language library
Cafe Tal is on the corner of Sangre de Cristo street and Temezcuitate alley. Sangre de Cristo street is the block that runs between VIPs and Embajadoras. If you are walking/driving from VIPs to Embajadoras, it's on the left hand side -- more or less the second or third building going up from the VIPs corner.
You could call first and talk with Greg, the owner, to make sure it's okay. I don't think he would mind. The phone number there (land line, not cell) is 732-6212. But not matter what, you should try their coffee and incredible hot/cold chocolate drinks! |

RE: English language library
YES Gary!!! There are still some of us who don't have, or cannot afford, Kindles or Nooks and still love and have a need for "real" books. A lending source in Centro would be most welcome. PLEASE don't go the basura route! Thanks, Gigi

RE: English language library
I have decided to give the books to Tierra del Verano. Jacquie can use them at her school library. 90 percent of the books are on history, psychology, philosophy and religion and would not attract a general crowd of readers. I don't think there was one novel in the bunch. Thanks all for your response.

RE: English language library
If anyone wants a bunch of hard cover English language cook books FREE (there are 12 or 13) come and get them. They cover a large range of food types. I am not moving them again. altavista.gto@gmail.com
