I can't help with the horseback riding question but I have a suggestion about birding.
By the time your family arrives, there will be decent birding at Presa La Purisima. All of the winter water birds will be arriving and the passerines are pretty good along the shore. The dirt road along the north side of the presa is a good start. Linn |
