RE: Recent TelMex procedure
When I got my phone/internet set up, here's what happened:
Phone took just a matter of a few days. The phone lines were in, but my arquitecto's so-called electrician had made such a mess of it that the Telmex guys had to do much of it over. There was no additional cost for that. The internet took about a month, because I didn't understand that you had to call Infinitum to activate it, even though I bought it through Telmex and Telmex gave me the Infinitum modem when I arranged for the phone line/internet. I've had three modems -- one of which was a dud, and one of which stopped working. No charge for any of them, but in order to get a replacement, you have to call the Infinitum number so they can "test" the modem over the phone line and give you a verification number which you then take to the Telmex office to receive your new modem. My initial installation was about 4 1/2 years ago. I bought the "paquet" that costs $389 pesos per month for everything. The internet speed has always been adequate for streaming movies and YouTube, and of course e-mail and internet surfing. |
