OFFICE OF THE US CONSULATE IN GUANAJUATO CAPITAL
I would like to take a serious poll.
Who would be interested in having an office of the US Consulate in Guanajuato where you can deliver applications for passports and passport cards, have documents notarized, and do many things that you must travel to SMA to do? The SMA Consulate is overwhelmed with visitors. Their hours are short and when I visited last Tuesday, Ed Clancy, our Consul, was very happy to know that I had volunteered to assist as "Warden". I believe that, if we have enough folks interested in having a local office, we might be able to convince the US Embassy in DF to consider opening one here. I also believe that, if and when, we speak to Ed, he would welcome the idea and even help us facilitate the project. Please vote and comment on this issue. Thank you. Martha ;) P.S. I would also appreciate passing this on to other folks in town so we can get a feel for how much interest there is on this issue. I recognize that there are folks that prefer to remain anonymous. They could send me a private e-mail and I promise to keep it confidential. (mer-mx@hotmail.com) I would just get a feel for the numbers. Thank you. |
