Well, that makes it crystal clear. We went to Leon last week to check on the process for becoming inmigrado since our FM2 expires on July 13. Very easy so I hope they don't try to implement any of this before then. They did say there were going to be changes but didn't know what they were. Given how complicated they made the "simplifying" changes of last year (no you don't need bank statements, yes you do) this should really be a mess. Good news for all the guys who sell their services. Thanks, Brooke

Carolyn asked both the official in Migraci?n and Apolinar the Escritorio Publico in SMA about the new laws. Both said the laws would go into effect "el proximo a?o", while rolling their eyes and shrugging their shoulders in the process.

Basically, a new law was passed last month, but by the time it filters down to their level, who knows what it will actually entail?
