Doctor Recommendation?

Ola Todo,

My friend Gregg has what I think is the beginning of a herniated disk in his neck. Having had two herniated disks myself in the past decade, the symptoms seem pretty clear to me. His isn't very bad, at least yet. My problems were corrected short of surgery with physical therapy, but it seems necessary to have an MRI to pinpoint the actual situation before proceeding with PT.

Can anyone recommend a neurosurgeon to obtain a proper diagnosis? Does anyone know how much MRI's cost here? Perhaps one does not have to see a neurosurgeon to have an MRI ordered.

Any help along these lines would be very much appreciated.

Take a look at Mexico Health and Safety Travel Guide I have been using Dr Carlos Ramierz Mateos in Leon for the past 5-6 years. I have given up on my former GP at Centro Medica de la Presa as he never took notes/kept files. I find the quality of care much better at the consultorios in Hospital los Angeles in Leon. The price of an office visit is the same in Leon as it is in GTO.

Dr Ramierez is a internist/hemotologist/immunologist which is not what you need of course but I'm sure he could reccomend a specialist. There is also an English speaking Orthopedist in Leon that is listed in the guide.

Ken, if Physical Therapy seems the appropriate approach, Leigh and Marilyn Stowell have been seeing a PT in Leon for quite some while. I'm sure they would share the details with you.
