Greg Bernhardt 1952-2022

Greg left this world last night at his Omaha home.
During his near 3 years here we became good friends and our political and sports affiliations matched up perfectly to drive long conversation, while gently buzzed, on our terrace. His fondness for vodka could sometime have me drive him home to Marfil, but now that seems to be a bargain price for the fun he brought into our lives.
Susan and I now will hold more tightly the several great photographs he gifted us of our colorful town, a place that was just the perfect place for his sharp eye and lens.
He left here last September going to a high school reunion and to have a routine physical with a return ticket at the end of the month.
Cancer, starting in his lungs, killed him in 8 months.
We will miss our friend.

I sent him a Facebook message four days ago, and when I didn't get a reply, I thought something might be wrong.

Thank you for posting this. He was our neighbor and though I didn't know him well I would say Hi when he passed by with his dog Prince. Another neighbor was just asking about him yesterday and I said as far as I knew he was in Nebraska taking cancer treatments. I will update the neighbor who asked about him.
