Does anyone know of a good, reliable(most of the time) internet service. TelMex has been terrible. Call 415-111-3697
Gracias

RE: Internet service
If you think Telmex is terrible, I doubt you're going to be happy here. I've had Telmex service for around 17 years, and it's been mostly great. Twice in all that time, I've had a problem that required a service call, which came promptly and solved the problem.

The other major provider here is Megacable. From what I hear, its service is also good most of the time. But when there's a problem requiring a service call, Megacable can take several days to respond.

What exactly is so "terrible" about your Telmex service?

RE: Internet service
I agree with Don. Telmex is the best game in town. We upgraded from their DSL to fiber optic service in 2016 and have been satisfied with both the speed and the service. It does help to direct cable to your PCs, TV, whatever (and avoid WiFi) to achieve maximum speed and reliability. If you rely on WiFi then you'll probably need to ditch the router supplied by Telmex and do a fair amount of research to purchase a 3rd party router/Access Point (e.g. Netgear, Asus, D-Link, TP-Link, Google mesh, etc.) to meet your particular needs.

While MegaCable offers the same speeds, I've heard complaints from many users about their service response, when problems arise.

I'm pleased to hear Kasugie is also happy with Telmex, as he knows more about this sort of thing than I do. In my own case, I use WiFi exclusively (no direct cable connection), along with the router supplied by Telmex, and have zero problems with signal strength. I do use a plug-in WiFi extender to boost the signal to the farthest corner of our house. Kasugie's needs are greater than mine (e.g., he uploads lots of stuff), so you may find a direct cable connection would be helpful if your needs are similar.

RE: Internet service
I hated Telmex but when I tried to get Megacable, they didn't have service where I live. So when someone from Totalplay came by and dropped off info I talked with them. I have had their service for about a year. Excellent. If there is a problem they will speak English. I have all the initial problems worked out. All of their channels are en Esp. but I don't actually watch TV with them. I have never had a problem with losing service. It's out there. It's fast. Everyone is friendly and wants to help. I am very satisfied with it. I don't know if it covers the whole city but you can find out at totalplay.com.mx. After I got their service I went to Telmex and got the best service from them that I ever got. Nobody was there. Totally changed from the long lines in the past. They immediately closed my account and gave me info on it. I didn't believe it, but it was closed without any problems. Check out Totalplay.
