El Cubo closing
Some bad news for local economy. Endeavour Silver owner of El Cubo mine announces total closure and termination of 400+ employees effective 30 November. The stated reason was depletion of known resources and an ambitious exploratory effort failed to show positive prospects for future. Legal severance and job search assistance will be offered to all affected.
Press reports say a similar fate may soon impact nearby Los Torres mine which employs 150+. Both are located slightly east of the city up in Los Caldorones. |
