Bank recommendations?
Hey GTOers,
I need to open a bank account. For now I just need basic functions: deposit Mexican paycheck, use ATM, transfer money from the US. Any recommendations? Or banks to stay away from? Thanks. |

RE: Bank recommendations?
I use Bancomer and like them very much. I have gotten to know the officers upstairs and use the windows upstairs for "preferred clients" and businesses. Much faster. Check what the amount is that is needed to be "preferred". We transfered $ and have the equivalent of a cd with better interest than in the US. We occasionally wire transfer from the US. I thought they would only accept $4000 US per month but they just accepted more than that. I haven't had any bad experiences and enjoy paying my rent (for Donkey Jote bookstore) on line. Also use it to pay auto insurance. Nice location for my business. Doesn't have any "relationship" with a US bank for all the promises they make about how easy it is to transfer $. Gotta hear from someone else who uses one of those.

Hey GTOers, I need to open a bank account. For now I just need basic functions: deposit Mexican paycheck, use ATM, transfer money from the US. Any recommendations? Or banks to stay away from? I like my Citibanamex account because there is no ATM fee when I withdraw from a Banamex machine. Check with someone at a Banamex branch to see how you would deposit your Mexican paycheck here and how to transfer money. I transfer from a US online bank to my Citibanamex account. |
