What Happened to the !Disfruita GTO! List??!!

Does anyone know what happened with the MeetUp !Disfruita GTO! group? It seems to have disappeared.

Alas. It was a lot of work for the one person who took responsibility for maintaining it. I, for one, applaud her TOTALLY volunteer efforts to keep the rest of us informed about what's going on in GTO, but it simply was too much work with chasing down all the venues and asking for event updates, and adding it all to the website. Perhaps someone else (or several people) is willing to assume the work?

I can totally understand that. Karen was a trooper. But I never saw a call for new volunteers to take over the job. Too bad. Maybe some would have stepped forward. Thanks for the info.

Yes, it took a lot of Karen's time, and we all appreciate the work she put into disfruta.

I just started a facebook page to list events, JUST events, in Guanajuato, for people who live here. I hope Karen will help me to administer the new page and/or forward the emails she gets from her contacts. Most of the events happening now in Guanajuato are in the Cervantino program, so there's not much on the facebook page yet.

There is another expat facebook page (expats/visitors/lovers of guanajuato) where I used to post events, but lately it seems to be serving a different purpose with numerous inquiries from people who want to move here, asking about housing, immigration procedures, cost of living, the weather, schools, recommendations for purchases/repairs, etc., and the posts about events get lost there.
