Any Brits on the list I have some ?s
My sister and Significant other are planning to come to Guanajuato for a year maybe more. They are British citizens are there any British folks out there that have gone through the process of getting temporary or permanent residence. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Can they get to a Mexican embassy or consul before departing UK? If so they can
get the latest rules, regulations and perhaps have arrangements made before arriving. |

RE: Any Brits on the list I have some ?s
My husband is British and got his residente temporal last November. It is good for one year, then can be renewed for up to three.
They MUST start the process in a Mexican embassy in their own country. There they will require a number of documents. Most importantly, you have to prove that you meet the income requirements. If they pass, they will have a temporary visa affixed to their passport which is good for you initial entry only. Once in Mexico, there is a fairly tight window (2 weeks?) for starting the process for the RT. There really is no difference for a US or UK citizen other than where you begin the process. FWIW! I didn't use an expediter for my initial one year, which I got in La Paz. However I did use one in SMA for my 3 year renewal and I am glad I did. Hope this helps! |
