Hola, I am planning a trip to Guanajuato to check out areas of town and look at rentals. I also would like to spend a couple days in San Miguel de Allende. I don't think I will want to live there, but I'd like to see it. I'm thinking of staying in GTO for 2-3 weeks.

I will be bringing my cat with me. I understand that she is not allowed to be with me on buses in Mexico, only in the luggage compartment, which is worrisome. So, should I just pay a taxi to take me from Leon airport to GTO and later from GTO to SMA or is there a shuttle or is the bus Ok or....? Also/and, does someone know of a driver in GTO who speaks Spanish and English. (I'm learning Spanish, but...) Perhaps he or she could take me around GTO and explain the different areas of town and/or drive me to and from SMA?
