Bancomer won't accept US money

I've had an account with Bancomer for 14 years. Occasionally I would deposit dollars for someone and then I could withdraw the amount for them and it would be a better exchange rate than a Casa de Cambio. Yesterday I tried to do that for a friend. They refused to accept any US dollars for deposit to my account. They said the only foreign $ they accept is Euros. I asked if they would accept my wire transfers as they have during all those years. She didn't know. I guess I'll find out when we try to do it.

I have resisted opening an account at some large bank that claims to work well with banks here. My little Baylake Bank in Sturgeon Bay, WI is so easy to deal with. Do any of you deposit dollars in a MX bank here in Gto?
