Italian restaurant we recommend

It's called Porto Fino Ristorante Italiano, and it's on the eastern side Transito (on the same side of the divided highway as the Grand Plaza Hotel) and a little past the Sta. Fe Glorieta as you head out of the city. You'll have to make a retorno if you are coming from the city.

The food and service are very good, the prices are modest, and wine is served by the glass and the bottle. We had antipasto, homemade ravioli stuffed with mushrooms, and spaghetti with a delicious tomato and black olive sauce. Fellow diners told us that the salads and pizza are also excellent. There's limited parking in front. Open till 7 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. The only negative is the noise level from the traffic, as diners are seated on the balcony overlooking the street.

NB. No visible signage. Unfortunately we drove around and around in taxis looking for the place. No taxi driver or their base knew where it was. There are several Italian/pizza places around there but none with the signage Portofino. After 2 taxis we gave up and came back to Centro. Why no signage in that name? That would help them get customers there. Pity. We were looking forward to it.
