Me vuelvo loco - buscando cajas de cartón I'm going crazy trying to find carboard box

I need 6 cardboard boxes big enough for a laptop and accessories. Alternatively I could use big bubble wrap envelopes. Any ideas where I can find them? I've tried every papeleria en el centro.

Mega, for sure. They give them away to pack groceries and break down many for trash in the aisles as they re-stock. Just ask at the front registers and I am sure you could easily get 6, if you can carry them.

Today Mega had alot of them. Other times no way will they part with them. I bought bubble wrap in the past, more than 1 mtr wide and not too expensive from the art supply store in the U of G almost across from Mercado Hdgo. But they are not there. Someone told me they have moved to Juan Valle. I haven't checked that out. Don't go crazy. You're too important to Brillantes Caminantes. And...you're just a nice guy.

No help here on boxes but I have some similar stories. Sorry, just ranting about my poor language skills. Srmisterio does well to post the question in spanish.

When I visited Guanjuato in 2006 and attended Escuela Mexican I thought that I could pick up a Spanish-English dictionary locally. Luckily, when I was picked up at the airport the driver asked "Cansado?", which was a mystery to me. I dashed to the airport gift shop and bought a dictionary. Later In Guanajuato I discovered that no Spanish-English dictionaries were to be found.

On a similar vein, I needed a nail or tack for something in my room, so I figured I would just go find a telephone pole and pull out a nail left over from some yard-sale sign. Well, metal or cement poles don't have nails. Didn't know then where I could find a ferreteria so I figured I'd hike up in the hills by some old mine site and find a nail. At the old sites there was not a scrap of iron to be found.

So then I decided I would ask at the spanish school if they could let me have a thumb tack. Well, no they didn't have anything like that, and they also did not have a stapler I could borrow to staple some of my notes.

Then, a fellow student's lights were out at her apartment, so she asked me to help her find some candles. We slogged all over Guanajuato trying to find some, asking in various stores with our sorry spanish skills. Finally found some and she could go back to her apartment. A few days later I saw plenty at the Oxxo near her room. We just couldn't communicate.

I needed a bungee cord (cuerdo elastica) in my room for a flapping door. So I traipsed all over town trying to find and describe what I needed. The ferreteria on the way to the La Presa didn't know what I was talking about even with my wild and hilarious gesticulations. Luckily at Mercado Embajadoras a vendor had some, so on the way home we had a good laugh at the ferreteria.

I won't even mention my quest for some paper, or a notebook. But trust me, there is none to be found at that big statute up on the hill.

Not complaining, Guanajuato is a great place. I can't wait to visit again, and I will take more spanish.
