Besides the recent phone theft by someone delivering purified bottled CIEL water to a new bakery in Plaza Baratillo, many people besides myself have experienced a jeweler who has a shop by the Plaza de Muzica, called: "EL CHATO", regular thefts of their jewelry when left for repair, or he has changed the valuable stones for garbage and denied any knowledge of it. The police do absolutely nothing when it's reported, which is exactly why he can continue fleecing customers. No matter how much they "beautify" GTO, these types of actions degrade, and will continue to degrade further, the quality of living here. If the local MEXICAN population will not take action to change the way the police deal with these ongoing problems, then maybe the Gringo population will determine to place continued pressure upon the GOVERNOR to obtain some enforcement of LAW here.
