Mail from US
I was wondering how long it takes for regular mail to be delivered from the US? My mom sent me a letter from Philadelphia on the 11th, and I still haven't received it. I just want to know if this is normal.
Thanks! |

RE: Mail from US
apparently my previous reply did not post...
It will take 25 to 30 days to arrive--if at all. A couple of months ago a State of Texas official letter arrived exactly 30 days after mailing. |

RE: Mail from US
The short answer is 6 days to 6 months. I once received a letter in 6 days from the US, even though it bore only domestic US postage. On the other hand, a certificate mailed in a flat 9 x 12 envelope took 6 months. The average (either direction) seems to be 4 - 6 weeks, in my experience. Mysteriously, the service is much, much slower than the 1950s when the likes of Jack Kerouac, Alan Ginsberg, and Joyce Glassman furiously carried on correspondence between México and the US!

RE: Mail from US
Thanks for the info! The letter was from the IRS, so I hope it wasn't a notice of audit!
