Need advice on exterior painting
I'm needing to paint a newly built place with grey concrete exterior. I get a different story from just about everyone I ask. My plan is to put selledor and then exterior paint. My contractor says I should mix the selledor with white cement. Others say I should put cal then paint. anyone know the best way?

RE: Need advice on exterior painting
Hi. We completed a new home here last year, our second in Mexico. Our builder surprised me when he suggested that we apply a 50/50 mixture of Comex 5x1 sealer and water to all finished cement surfaces prior to painting. Our other home in bone dry Sonora had been given pure, 100% sealer before paint. It has worked well thru last summers intense rains, went on faster and of course saved a little money. For roof surfaces, bovedas and domes he liberally applied 5 year Comex impermeabilizantes.
Good luck with your new place. |

RE: Need advice on exterior painting
Thanks for the advice. In the end we decided a 3 to 1 mix of selledor and water with an addition of white cement for the primer. Seems to be going on well hopefully it will last
