Someone had organized an everyone-invited potluck at the nature reserve near Santa Rosa. Nearly everyone, maybe sixty people, came. Although I had only been in town a week, I was one of them. Bob Hawkins, using his Southern preaching experience, gave a rousing patriotic speech. Then everyone ate and socialized. That day I started thinking about moving here.
