Burned Home Almost "In The Dry"
Patrons,
The very slow and tedious process of removing the ceiling, roof, and collar beam of the burned out house is over. The reinforced collar beam is in place. There is now a very large cross beam that is on top of a bigger, stronger brick faced column. All the vegas are in place and the concrete center sections are going in. There will be a skylight in the girl?s room, the bathroom, and the kitchen ? the holes for them are being created. Meanwhile, the family has made our swim program the safest possible. All of them are volunteering to make sure our 30+ babies (5 years or younger), 32 girls (6 to 15) and 27 boys (6 to 15) build confidence without drowning. We had 90, 80, and then 60 kids swimming the last three weeks. The roof will be ready to pour next Wednesday (12th of June), but that event will not happen until Sunday, June 16 due to the volunteers having a day off. This is going to be a big event here in Cajones. Family members from all over the city of Guanajuato will join us here to ?top off? this home. We feel this will be a true victory for spreading the idea of helping, as others will join in too. Please help get on the roof if you can?more photo at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/jzmackenzie?ref=tn_tnmn |
