Guanajuato: How privileged we feel to be living in this land - of tunneld mystery and open deserts, of nopales and pine trees, of culture and backwater communities, of scorpions and butterflies, of university students and the old conservative guarde, of the avant guarde and crucifixes, of thunderous downpours and days so dry your hair crackels, of kisses and misses, of nightlife and church bells, of reserved and skeptical locals and friendly neighbors, of pets and vets, of the what-if's and the not yet's.

Guanajuato: the valley of the forgotten frogs, the barking and hissing of feral cats and dogs, the chirping and the screeching of multitudes of birds, the drunken revelry of old friends singing in the quiet hours to wake the world to cammeraderie, the awkward moments of first encounters, the symbiosis of people and traffic weaving in and out of each other in languid design, the donkeys and cows claiming back the paved streets as their ancient right of ways, the rickety cart vendors, so far, still wearing their straw hats of old, the cobbled streets and newly paved highways, the ruins, the mines, the churches, the alondiga, and the history: ours now, to share with all that went before. We are thankful.

BIRTH OF GTOROCKS
The first name given to this region was Mo-o-ti (moo-oh-tee), which means "metal layer zone". Back in Pre-Hispanic times it used to be called 'Paxtitl?n' (Pash-titl-AN) by the Aztecs, which means "place (made) of straw". The earliest known inhabitants were the Otomi tribe who were later displaced by the Chichimecas. The name "Guanajuato" comes from the Pur?pecha word "Quanaxhuato" which means "Mountanous place of frogs". After visiting here every summer I decided to move here in 1997 and be part of the magic of GTOROCKS. Being that my Mother is from here I am known as a Native even though I was born in Morelia. After many years of exploring and wheeling here I decided to call my wheeling fun "Frog Wheeling?". Then in 1997 I began calling the area PLANET GTOROCKS? and it has caught on since:) Thanx to Frog Wheelers like YOU! Frog Wheel Drive...Use it without Abusing Nature!
