Hi, mee-ow, to everybody!

Mi name is Diego and I would like to tell you my story of living here in Guanajuato. A few weeks ago some schoolgirls found me on the street, abandoned and lonely ?without my sisters and brothers and without my mum ? and brought me to the practice of Dr. Felipe Manriquez. I was full of fleas but there they gave me food, something against the annoying fleas and some medicine against the little animals in my belly. In the practice I first met Barbara, a girl who spoke a language that was even stranger than the language of the other humans. The next day Barbara visited me in the practice. I think because I cried a lot when I saw her entering the door, she took me to her house.



Since we met for the first time, Barbara always told me that she would find a good home for me here in Guanajuato ? I liked this idea a lot. What a pity that I fell ill just a few days later. I was a little bit tired, furthermore I had fever and all my lymph nodes were swollen. That was strange! As Dr. Felipe wasn?t in his practice, we went to Dr. Maru Herrera. There they gave me some medicine and vitamins and after a few days I was much better ? now I became really kittenish! Anyway, Dr. Maru recommended we do a blood test in order to detect the kind of sickness I had. Last week we made that blood test ? unfortunately I have a virus that causes the sickness called ?Leukemia? (in the language of the doctors the virus is called FeLV). Although I feel very good at the moment I have these little animals in my blood! Barbara read up quite a lot on that strange sickness and she told me that I can live many years without having either health problems or symptoms. They will give me a treatment that will strengthen my immune system in order to fight against the virus.



What I ask myself now is the following: Can they still find a new home for me here in Guanajuato? Although it seems to be difficult because I have that virus in my body?but I have a lot of hope and I am strong! I adore living, playing, eating and spooning with ?my? humans! It would be extraordinary to live with other animals, but they told me that this would be possible only with cats that also carry that FeLV-virus in their blood. But what about dogs? Oh yes, that would be possible because I cannot transmit the virus to dogs!!



Would someone like to adopt me? As I already said, I am quite kittenish, about 3 months old, and I have already been vaccinated against other bad diseases like Rabies and cat flu. I will also be sterilized within the next several weeks. People say I am very intelligent, sometimes a little bit fresh, and I know how to convince my human ?parents?. Barbara said that she wants to help with everything she can in order to continue the medical treatment ? even with money if necessary.



Unfortunately Barbara has to return to Germany on the 28th of July. That is why I have to find a new home very quickly?

Mi nombre es Diego y me gustar?a hablarles un poco de mi historia que viv? aqu? en Guanajuato. Hace unas semanas unas chavas me encontraron abandonado y solitario ? o sea sin mis hermanos y sin mi mam? - en la calle y me llevaron al consultorio de Dr. Felipe Manr?quez. Estaba lleno de pulgas pero la gente ah? me daba comida, algo contra estas pulgas enervantes y ademas un medicamento contra los animalitos que ten?a en mi pancita. En el consultorio me encontr? por primera vez con B?rbara, una chava que hablaba una idioma que me parec?a aun m?s extra?a que la idioma de los otros ser humanos. El pr?ximo d?a B?rbara me visit? en el consultorio. Creo que porque llor? tanto cuando v? a ella, tanto que me llev? a su casa.



Desde el inicio cuando nos encontramos B?rbara siempre dijo que va a encontrar una casa buena para mi aqu? en Guanajuato y esa idea si, me gust?. Qu? l?stima que algunos d?as despu?s me puse enfermo. Estaba un poco cansado, adem?s ten?a fiebre y todos mis ganglios linf?ticos estaban mayores que normal. Que raro todo eso! Ya que el Dr. Felipe no estaba en casa, B?rbara me llev? al consultorio de la Dra. Maru Herrera. Me dieron medicamentos y vitaminas y despu?s de unos d?as me encontraba muy bi?n de nuevo ? ahora s?, me volv?a en juguet?n! Sin embargo, la Dra. Maru nos recomend? hacer una prueba de sangre para detectar la enfermedad que ten?a. La semana pasada hicimos esa prueba ? desgraciadamente tengo un virus que causa la enfermedad de ?Leucemia? (en la idioma de los m?dicos el virus se llama FeLV). Aunque me siento muy bien por el momento tengo ese animalito loco dentro de mi sangre! B?rbara se inform? bastante sobre esa enfermedad rara y me dijo que puedo vivir muchos a?os m?s sin tener ni problemas ni s?ntomas. Ya me van a dar un tratamiento que va a fortalecer mi sistema inmunol?gico para luchar contra el virus.



Que me pregunto ahora es lo siguiente: Todav?a van a encontrar un lugar para m? aqu? en Guanajuato? Aunque me parece muy dif?cil ya que tengo ese virus dentro de mi cuerpo... pero tengo esperanza y voy a luchar mucho! Me gusta tanto vivir, jugar, comer y acariciar a ?mis? ser humanos! Que bueno ser?a vivir junto con otros animales, pero me dijeron que s?lo sea posible con gatos que tambi?n sean positivos con respecto a la leucemia. O tal vez con perros? Si, eso ser?a posible porque no puedo transmitir el virus a perros!!



Alguien de ustedes me quiere? Como ya dije, soy un gato juguet?n, tengo 3 meses de edad, ya tengo las vacunas necesarias y en las pr?ximas semanas tambi?n me quieren esterilizar. Dicen que soy muy inteligente, a veces un poco fresco y s? como convencer mis ?pap?s?. B?rbara dijo que va a ayudar con todo que puede para que pueda seguir mi tratamiento donde la doctora ? tambi?n con dinero si fuera necesario.



Lastimosamente B?rbara tiene que regresar a Alemania el 28 de julio as? que tengo que encontrar una casa muy prontito?

Hallo, hola, ich bin Diego aus Mexiko. Einsam und vollkommen verfloht auf der Stra?e gefunden, haben mich liebe Menschen in der Tierarzt-Praxis von Dr. Felipe abgegeben. Dort habe ich auch Barbara, ein M?del mit einer sehr komischen Sprache, kennengelernt. Da ich in der Praxis so alleine war und wohl j?mmerlich geschrien haben muss, wurde Barbara zu meiner Pflege-Dosi. Seitdem wir uns kennengelernt haben, hat sie mir gesagt, dass sie ein neues Zuhause f?r mich suchen wolle ? hier in Guanajuato, Mexiko.



Doch bald schon f?hlte ich mich gar nicht mehr wohl ? die Tier?rztin stellte fest, dass ich au?er Fieber auch noch geschwollene Lymphknoten am ganzen K?rper hatte. Mit den komischen Spritzen und Medikamenten ging es mir ziemlich schnell wieder gut. Trotzdem meinte die Frau Doktor, dass mein Blut noch untersucht werden m?sste, um festzustellen, ob ich ein Virus namens FeLV ? in der Sprache von Barbara auch Leukose genannt ? in mir trage. Obwohl es mir seit einiger Zeit richtig gut geht und ich ein stattliches kleines Katerchen mit leuchtenden Augen geworden bin, bin ich tats?chlich positiv getestet worden! Sowas Dummes, jetzt wird es richtig schwer, ein neues Zuhause hier in meiner Heimat zu finden.



Aber Barbara will mich nicht alleine lassen: Sie w?rde mich mitnehmen in ihr Land mit der komischen Sprache und mir dort ein neues Zuhause suchen! Bei ihr bleiben kann ich leider nicht, sie wohnt nach ihrer langen Abwesenheit aus Deutschland erst einmal bei ihren Eltern, wo es bereits ein h?bsches K?tzchen gibt, das aber nicht krank ist?.anstecken m?chte ich Luisa nat?rlich nicht. Auch kann es sein, dass Barbara in Zukunft ?fter umziehen muss ? das w?re mir viel zu stressig und w?rde mein Immunsystem nur noch mehr schw?chen!



Ihr seht, das ist alles ganz sch?n kompliziert. Aber ich bin so voller Zuversicht, dass ich bald jemanden finde, der mich aufnehmen m?chte! Ich bin noch so jung, stecke voller Tatendrang und Lebenswillen und werde solange k?mpfen, bis ich dieses komische Virus besiegt habe, jawohl! 3 Monate gibt es mich schon in dieser wundersch?nen bunten Welt, geimpft bin ich bereits gegen alles m?gliche andere ?bel. Meinen m?nnlichen mexikanischen Stolz hat man mir zwar noch nicht genommen, doch lange wird es auch damit nicht mehr dauern. Man sagt, ich bin sehr intelligent, manchmal ganz sch?n frech und weiss, wie ich meine Menschen ?berzeugen kann. Wie es sich f?r einen mexikanischen Macho geh?rt, kann ich aber auch ganz sch?n schmusig sein?.



Freuen w?rde ich mich sehr ?ber ein weiteres K?tzchen, gigantisch (aber nicht unbedingt notwendig) w?re ein gesicherter Freigang! Es gibt doch so viel zu spielen und zu entdecken auf dieser Welt!
