Mcafee scam
On Friday these crooks made a unauthorized charge on my ATM card for a "renewal" of a virus security program. This was on a computer I have not had for almost 2 years.
Fortunately my bank has an international number & this outrageous fee was reversed from my account.
So a word to the wise. Evidently they are a shady as their orginal owner at least IMO.

RE: Mcafee scam
I've never been impressed by McAfee's software, but they're a major company and I'd be surprised if they were engaging in the kind of blatantly illegal two-bit fraud that you've described. Is it possible that you opted into an automatic annual renewal at some point in the past?

RE: Mcafee scam
Very likely. Many such subscription-based services contain fine print language that auto renew unless you take action to cancel. Even the Wall Street Journal digital plan hooks you. Buyer beware.
