The Latest Atencion Article explained, in English, what I learned online. To get your own prescription medications or vitamins into Mexico requires only the owner of the Rx to bring them over the border (not a spouse or agent of any kind) or get permission from the Mexican health department in Mexico City.

The form is 5 pages long - the instructions are 98 pages long. The article states that NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN APPROVED. The requirements are that every aspect of the drug (exact ingredients, manufacturer, packaging, proprietary information) must be included. The information requested is not available to the public. EVERY REFILL NEEDS A NEW APPROVED FORM. The front page of the newspaper states that people are threatening to leave Mexico and live elsewhere because the parameters cannot be accomplished.

I am the frustrated wife of a Purple Heart Vietnam Veteran with service-connected disabilities, which warrant refill medications every 90 days. The names of the medications change frequently as the US Govt. buys the least-expensive ones.

La Conexion courier service in SMA suggests a shuttle to McAllen every refill for $250USD for each person. Does anyone on the GTOlist have a better idea?

Not a solution but I know from experience you can pull the chemical formula for any drug except narcotics off the internet I take several medicines and have decided after shopping different pharmacies it's actually just as cheap as my insurance copay to buy them here.Also if one takes the time to get on imss you could get the medicine.for free. I can't stress enough the difference in prices at different pharmacy I learned this buy going to everyone of them
