New News On Water
Well, I've had water every day this week. Talked with a Guanajuatense friend and he was explaining that the water cut off has now been changed to 4PM when, apparently, zone 1 will be cut off today until 4PM tomorrow. No more 1 day on 2 days off. But the dang article was just as, or more confusing than the calendar from Simapag. Anyway, here's the link http://http://www.periodicocorreo.com.mx...ortes.html. Hope that works, it's not in blue so quien sabe.

RE: New News On Water
Several of the commenters on the Correo article pointed out that it contradicted SIMAPAG's website. So who's right? Correo or SIMAPAG? Beats me. I have long regarded Correo as unreliable, but SIMAPAG isn't much better. The other day I emailed SIMAPAG to ask why we didn't have water, on a day when its calendar said we should have. I give them credit for responding, which I didn't expect, but not for the response itself. They said it was "probable" that the water supply to our house had been affected by a neighborhood leak. Probable? If SIMAPAG doesn't know for certain, who would?

The Correo schedule is contrary to what Colleen's friend told her! According to the recap schedule in Correo, Zone 1 should have water from 4 PM on Wednesday to 4PM on Thursday. Fine, but I am in Zone 1 and as of 5:15 today, I still have no water!

I know the way this works: When we have water, we have it; when we don't, we don't. Simple! Easy to understand!

Really - Why rely on Simapag? The important this is that you just have to know if your tinaco has water or not.

You could keep climbing up on your roof over and over again - several times a day to find out or as Rube Goldberg suggested that I do

As the water level in the tinaco drops so does the ballasted Coke bottle which pulls up the warning flags. If I can figure this out well (w/ Rube's help of course) then...

Maybe we all could do this and along the way design some nice Medieval style flags and have a best flag contest?

RE: New News On Water
I'm in Zone 2 and the water here, at least in Guijas hasn't been turned off at all this week. I can tell immediately because my kitchen and patio faucets come from direct lines from the street, so when SIMAPAG turns the water off and I open those faucets, there isn't a drop. My tinaco only supplies water to the bathroom, so unless we shower and flush the toilet 50 times a day, I never run out of water no matter what.
If everybody is careful about water consumption (recycle water from washing machines to flush toilets/clean patios, keep a bucket in the shower to collect water while you're waiting for it to get hot, turn the shower off while you're soaping up, etc.), you should be able to survive two days without water -- you just have to plan your laundry days carefully once you figure out if the calendar is correct!
