Passing of Dr. John Held (1942-2017)

One of Guanajuato's best friends, John Held, Ph.D, died from pancreatic cancer earlier this week at his home in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
A regular and frequent visitor, John together with his vibrant wife Yadie, a native of Veracruz, would enjoy extended stays at Bill Byrnes apartment compound. His big laugh and tales from a life lived to the maximum made his company a treasure and his generosity for those less fortunate brought smiles to many locals, young and old.
With only weeks to live he made a farewell visit to this special place he so dearly loved. He told friends that with a final view of the Jardin life was complete and he was fully at peace.
Rest in Peace big John. You are one of our best.
