Putting Violence in Perspective
Here are some figures from the recent news media which will help put violent deaths in perspective:

November 27, 2010 (Los Angeles Times): Since January of 2007, when President Calder?n took office, there have been 28,228 violent deaths mostly involving those in the drug trade.

November 22, 2010 (The News, Mexico City): in one year, there are 24,000 deaths, and 750,000 hospitalizations, due to traffic accidents. This is according to Arturo Cervantes Trejo, technical director of the National Council for the Prevention of Accidents, and Jos? ?ngel C?rdova Villalobos, National Secretary of Health.

The numbers speak for themselves.
