We recently had pals stay three nights at the 1850.
They loved it. We checked it out during their stay and it looks really nice. Friendly, welcoming front room staff.
They came prepared for Centro night noise with ear plugs. Said they slept fine.

These are all great suggestions. But, consider my nightly rental in the Centro. It is very modern and cozy and just up the hill from the Baratillo. It is a great location and it has a beautiful garden to relax in.
