bus routes
I saw an old thread about the need for a local bus route map. Has anyone found one? thanks

RE: bus routes
I can't even figure out what they are named as they roll by in order to ride around to plot via a GPS. I always have to stand around and ask a passenger in front of Theatro Principal which bus I take to get where.

RE: bus routes
For me, the easiest thing to do was look at the names on the bus front and side window and hop on. I got a pretty good idea of the “loops” they take based on that. A few trips way out of your way will keep you shaper on what bus to avoid. If still in doubt, I’ll ask the driver if it gets close to my destination. Given there are no printed, numbered bus routes, that busses don’t have route numbers on them, this was easiest for me. Trial and error, they get me close enough to where I want to go, I can either cab or walk the rest of the distance.

RE: bus routes
Here's the old thread: http://www.gtolist.com/forum/thread-3090.html
gtolist will still underwrite the cost of a successful mapping of the bus routes as laid out in the terms that can be seen in the old thread. Someone needs to make an effort. No one since this offer was made in 2015 -4 years ago- has taken up the challenge. Based on my estimate it could take less than a week's "work" just traveling around town and noting which buses go from where to where via whatever route. GPS and other tech solutions would be fine but a 'seat-of-the-pants' ride around town highlighting the landmarks on each route would be more than adequate. Let's stop hoping someone else (like the bus companies or tourismo) will do it and get the job done ourselves. |
