RE: Bus to Mexico City Airport?
Update on "Pinchy":

Talked to a taxi driver about this and this word is sort of like our "F" word but not exactly. In other words it can have many meanings, good and bad. For example if you hear someone say "Pinchy Gringo" and you don't know them, they are making a racial slur at you. If you are face to face with someone, smiling at them and they call you "Pinchy" or they tap their left elbow in sign language, this means that you are wearing them out trying to negotiate and you need to cough up more cash for them in order for them to fork over the merchandise. Otherwise there are many more iterations of the word, at one end of the scale leaning toward the bad meanings of our "F" word and on the other end meaning someone who is a pain in the ass for being such a cheapskate.

Hope this helps.

Yes, there are those and many more uses of the word PINCHE, very few of which are a compliment. When somebody touches their elbow, it means CODO, or that you are stingely.

Nothing worse than being a pinche, codo Gringo in Mexico!

Now I could name a couple' others ;-)

Regardless, to those needing to get to the airport or anywhere else in Mexico, let me tell you what I do and then you can make your own decision.

I just look for a direct ETN to the DF Norte station if available, roll back in the lush leather seat, prop my feet up and dive off into dreamland until I see the outskirts of Mexico City swirling by. Then I consider traffic, is it rush hour, am I feeling lucky today with no robbers on the subway, what kind of mood am I in and then I either take a cab, bus or subway to the airport. Then I deal with the knot in my stomach as my day turns sour, knowing I'm going to be quizzed, probed, humiliated and relieved of some precious family heirloom with a sharp point on it only to board a hot and steamy tin box permeated with bad breath, vaporized mucus and cough germs, where I will once again be humiliated, starved, urine-relief-restrained, condescended to, cramped up while stiffing up my rear and back and where I will remain in a general bad mood for the next 1-4 hours.

Good one, Don. I had to re-read your post to see that you were talking about what happens after you arrive at the airport.
