sm?gen cervantino contest
Hello fellow Gtolisters.
As you may know the scandinavian countries, with Sweden being one of them, are this year's special Cervantino invitees. We are holding a contest or a brain storm at sm?gen - being Guanajuato's and probably Mexico's only Swedish restaurant - regarding how to provide an attractive offer to our clients during the festival. In short, the question is: How can sm?gen create an attractive offer and add value for it's customers during this year's Cervantino festival? And / or; What activities would you like to see at sm?gen during the Cervantino? Log on to our Facebook page (search for "sm?gen" or "smogen" and scroll down - the restaurant page has the same avatar as our gtolist account) or just post your replies here. Or stop by the restaurant and present your proposal in person. This is to be considered a contest, and the best proposal wins a sm?gen trademark chocolate ball. I (Jonas) decide what proposal is best. After all, I am the boss. Hoping to get a lot of creative input from you guys! Thank you in advance.

RE: sm?gen cervantino contest
I would say that the most important thing for you to do is get yourself approved as one of the "official" restaurants. I have no idea how to go about doing that, but a good place to start would be at the Cervantino office. You can put up a banner that you are "official" and it is bound to help business.

Thank you to laconstance for your advice. I have gotten two so far from the gtolisters (the other one in person at the restaurant), which I am very grateful for. Keep 'em coming! Laconstance, I have been looking into what you are mentioning, but opinions seem to differ as to whether it is worth it or not. As far as I understand there is an administrative procedure and possibly a fee involved, and it seems as if you apply at some tourism office around Yerbabuena. So, follow up question; Does anyone on gtolist know where to apply for "official" status as a restaurant? And if it turns out to be somewhere around Yerbabuena, does anyone on gtolist know the exact location? Keep contributing with good suggestions in the "sm?gen cervantino contest". They are greatly appreciated! Best,

RE: sm?gen cervantino contest
Why not highlights Sverige's contributions to the arts? Famous and talented actors (Garbo,Thulin,Ullman) and of course Bergman (Ingrid and Ingemar). The possibilities are endless. Post pictures of them in the city with advert for your restaurant over laid on bottom of image.

You're saying that my marketing material during and before the Cervantino could contain famous swedish cultural people? I'm taking notes... Thank you and keep 'em coming!
