1. HUNTING FOR TREASURE IN LEON - Day Trip - AUG. 8

Join Araceli Uriate in a visit to Leon sampling and sourcing materials, findings and inspiration for your next craft project. Araceli will guide us to and around some of Leon?s hard-to-find treasures. The focus of our visit will be the amazing FANTASIAS MIGUEL - the biggest craft supplies store in this state. Four floors of resources, in particular the floor of jewellery requisites including beads, joiners and findings.

We will also visit the atmospheric leather markets where leather pieces, remnants, and accessories abound along with great photographic opportunities.

Add to this a stop for lunch (possibly at the multi-cuisine smorgasbord restaurant Grants); a few architectural icons, and a bit of Leon history, and it adds up to a fun and informative day.

(Grant?s is an impressive international restaurant with excellent service. It features a quality smorgasbord of Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Argentine, and Japanese dishes, plus a salad and dessert bar. Approx. 160 pesos for lunch.)

MONDAY AUGUST 8
Meet at Central de Autobuses, GTO at 9.50am.
Return by 6pm. Travel, taxis and lunch at own expense.
Cost: 200 pesos each to our guide Araceli.

2. Workshop CALLA LILLIES & FELTED FLOWER NECKLACES
Join us in making wonderful wearable art objects and jewellery with pure wool. No knitting, no sewing. Techniques for intermediate, advanced, and daring beginners. The great thing about felting is that it is organic and develops as you go, creating surprises and fun results.

A 4 hour bi-lingual workshop with Araceli Uriate at Donkey Jote bookstore. Cost: 250 pesos, all materials and notes included.
