security related posts

Hi there, I was trying to find any security related posts--not so much official posts from us wardens but discussions about what expats are saying about security around GTO....found little if anything on the site...wondering if that means no one is thinking too much about this or if I'm not navigating properly. I did find the "stop the lies" post btw. I also was interested in the reference to the public pool which seems to be part of the university but on the way to Valenciana?

We are coming down with school age kids for six months with our kids. Mexicophobia seems big here in Canada and non-existent on the gtolist!

I believe that the lack of security-related posts on this forum is, as you guessed, an indication that no one here is terribly preoccupied with security concerns. "Mexicophobia," in Canada and elsewhere, is overblown.

allow me to second strongly don's sentiments. we are full time residents of mexico now for 5 years and move freely around the country by auto with our pooch in tow and never have any issue or concern over personal safety- and that goes even more so for Guanajuato.
