Dear All:

J?venes Adelante, A.C. is seeking volunteers in Guanajuato to help tutor university students in English. No experience necessary. No Spanish-speaking ability necessary. No boring meetings to attend.

JA is a nonprofit organization that provides university scholarships and support to exceptional Mexican high school graduates who would be unable to attend university without financial assistance. A rigorous screening process is used to select only the best students with the highest grades who demonstrate a strong motivation to succeed and significant financial need.

Our Mexican and foreign volunteers provide much more than financial support. We hold monthly programs for our students, support them as they adjust to university life, provide them with laptops to help level the playing field, provide English tutors, and more. The goal is to help these students succeed!

The Guanajuato branch will be providing 4 new students with scholarships this coming academic year, starting August 2011, and we are looking for English tutors to help our new students.

New tutors will receive training, materials and support, so all that is required is a desire to be a part of this remarkable organization. The volunteer commitment involves meeting with your student each week for at least one hour and any associated preparation time, and communicating with our program coordinators as needed. We also need volunteers who can substitute teach when a regular volunteer is out of town.

This is a great way to become involved in your community. With only a donation of your time and energy, you too will be able to reap the enormous rewards of working with these exceptional young people.
