Location of theatre in Leon
Hello,
Does anyone know of the neighborhood in Leon of the Mateo Herrera Auditoria? Is it in Centro? I have an address of: Prolongaci?n Calzada #308 Esq. Vasco de Quiroga, Col. La Martin?ca, Le?n, GTO 37500. We will be driving there 10/15 from Morelia to attend the Live from the Met performance. Google has given us what appears to be confusing info. Does anyone know the best way to arrive at the theatre driving from Salamanca/Irapauto? Also, we've been told it's a 2 hour drive to Leon from Morelia. If anyone has different info, that would be most useful as well. Thanks! |

Morelia-Leon 2 hrs is possible but reckon for 2.5-3 to have a cushion and have time to find parking. Use the new toll road from the lake to Salamanca.
You'll be entering Leon on the main highway (45) which is Blvd Lopez Mateos. At the large cross street Francisco Villa the Coke plant will be on the Right and the PoliForum on the Left. Get in Left lane for next intersection which is a Y to the Left. In your left front will be the art museum which is part of the same complex - also on the left at the stop light a large hotel/shopping mall is nearing completion. The 'Y' street is Ninos Heros which may also be called Prolong Calzada [Its called Calzada on the other side of the Malecon] Take a look at the Google map for the Poliforum Zoom up two levels and it will all become clear. The BING map Don posted is better than the Google map |
