Here are the Google Earth coordinates of the thermal pool I know about. Copy and paste the coordinates into the Google Earth search bar. I visited this one a few years ago. It consisted of an Olympic size swimming pool, or at least very large. If you have trouble locating this with the supplied information, post back here, and I will attempt to write directions to the pool, but this should be all the information that is needed for anyone who is apt at using Google Earth, which is a basic computer skill. I do not know the name of the pool.

Hi, Betsy and I recently arrived in the city of Guanajuato for the next seven weeks. We,too, love thermal springs. If you could provide us with directions to the Dolores-Hidalgo springs, that would be much appreciated. We have no auto here so will have to take a bus there, if possible. Or carpool with members of this forum. We will gladly pitch in for gas. Please advise. Thank you. tony and betsy

Well, I am not sure who Betsy is, but I am J Anoni. I gave the Google Earth coordinates above. I just checked to see if they work. They do, and will instantly show you where the Dolores Hidalgo Thermal Swimming Pool is.

However, if you do not understand Google Earth here are the directions. The distances were measured in 30 seconds, using the Google Earth "Ruler" feature.

Take the Road to Dolores Hidalgo, going through the village of Santa Rosa. Exactly 1.33 miles before the small glorieta at the entrance to Dolores Hidalgo, turn left at the intersection. Go exactly 1.8 miles to the 4-way intersection. Turn left. Go 2.27 miles to the entrance to the thermal pool and turn right. The entrance may or may not be marked with a sign. I cannot remember. As you can see on Google Earth, there is a dirt driveway of a couple of hundred yards leading to the parking lot, at which point you walk to the swimming pool.

Another point: In Mexico, anything can usually be found using taxi drivers. For instance: Take bus to Dolores Hidalgo. Hail taxi. Tell driver, "Take me to the thermal pool". Simple!

I need a few hours of R & R (while I work) HA! I would be willing to share the cost of going to "LA CUEVA" (for example) teach a Spanish conversation class for a group of four, have lunch and be back by 4:00 p.m. so that I can report to work at "LADY Z". I do have "sponsabilities" you know?
