Cleaning Person
We’re looking for reliable & trustworthy cleaning person, for one or two das a week. Initially we’re considering some construction work, so may need more frequently. Any references would be greatly appreciated. Also what are normal pay amounts for such services.

RE: Cleaning Person
IDK but also check with some of the changes going on in Mexico now regarding the strengthening of enforcement of laws around the hiring of locals for scheduled work, taxes due, etc.. Only hearing it second hand, I don't know the details but I just post this as a catalyst to see if anyone who follows it more closely than I do can speak up and perhaps outline what is happening more clearly. Time was that in Mexico, anything goes (anything "went"?) but with the seemingly unending waves of new laws or I suppose the enforcement of laws that were never paid attention to, Mexico seems to be full of constant surprises these days. Of course a lot of this knowledge of enhanced enforcement comes from overzealous "facilitator" groups who offer services for sale to set people up with anything from residency, to real estate, to driver's licenses to any type of legal need, but with all that, their constant advertising seems to provide the side benefit of keeping everyone on edge as to what is going to happen next. And while the image remains a fearful one of being hauled off to a holding tank in Mexico City to wait an undetermined amount time in a tight cell-full of Central Americans while you exist in unknown conditions awaiting being deported via a flight to Houston and only because you forgot your documentation while going out to dinner one evening, it seems only logical that more horror stories along similar lines are to follow. So who knows in reality how strict the laws are and who is going to be interpreting them and how often you will be judged or chastised for not properly following the law when you inevitably do something simple like hiring a housemaid. I sure know it makes me think twice about giving someone a job if a) I have to go through a long procedure to set it up or b) they might sue or report me for something I did wrong in the process later. Not a good situation at least from that perspective.

Of course one can only deliver their own first impression of a situation, but mine tends to run along if I can go to jail or be deported for something, I tend to try to avoid that, well of course with the exception of the forgetting my passport and manila folder of documents while hopping down the stairs for a taco, but considering the condition of my mind and the state it remains the better part of every day, I suppose I'll either see you in jail or in the Houston airport in the not too distant future. Still when it comes to whistling for some guys to help me load the back of the truck, not sure how long it will be before that begins to present a mounting number of concerns in doing so.

RE: Cleaning Person
Dear MissMyBike
I have a cleaning person who was recommended to me by Peggy Fisher. She has been an excellent help for me. She needs more work as she was suddenly widowed and now has two children to support. She does not bring her children to work with her and is extremely flexible and helpful. Please feel free to call me.
