Optician
Having lived here for 11 years we have tried several local opticians, best unnamed, for exams and lenses, with none proving really satisfactory.
Can anyone offer us a suggestion from your positive personal experience? We are willing to go to Leon if needed. Many thanks. |

RE: Optician
For a reliable exam, you now need to go to Leon. 4 years I developed cataracts and was treated by and had surgery with Dr Fernando Joel Moreno Lopez. I continue to be happy with the outcome. He is both an ophthalmologist and an eye surgeon, and obviously overkill if you merely want a routine vision exam and possibly a new prescription. He services the high-income Campestre area of León and has a retail clientele. He moved his office since my last visit, and I don't know if he has a dispensary or not. At any rate, here is his contact information:
MORENO LOPEZ JOEL DR Médicos Oculistas y Oftalmólogos BLVD. BLVD. CAMPESTRE 306 306, DEL ROCIO, 37160 Leon, Guanajuato (477) 470-1476 In terms of a local dispensary for glasses and contacts, it's always hit-and-miss. When we've had good results, it was because the optician sent the prescription to a lab in León to be filled. If you visit the U.S. on a periodic basis, your best bet for an eye exam and lenses/contacts is LensCrafters. If you're over 65, you're covered by Medicare Part B there as well. |
